The all new 2017 Subaru Forester will be receiving quite a few upgrades in the new calendar year. These refreshes to the Forester are extensive if not effective, and combines the technology of brake based torque vectoring into the sporty crossover. There are several Subaru Forester upgrades that provide fans with a mid-cycle refresh that aims to put the heat on in the crossover segment.

The major Subaru Forester upgrades are headed up by the inclusion of Subaru's Active Torque Torque Vectoring system. It's commonly found in the WRX STI and starting in 2017 it will also come as an option in the Forester 2.0XT. The 2017 Forester XT shares the same boxer turbocharged engine as the WRX, and now it will also share part of Subaru's active safety suite EyeSight. It's a considerable upgrade over the older version of Eyesight found in the previous generation of Subaru Forester.

These new Eyesight changes add to the Subaru Forester upgrades list, rounding out the changes with lane-keeping assist, blind-spot detection, and rear cross-traffic alert. These new Subaru Forester upgrades add onto existing Forester technology like adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, and lane-departure warning. This makes the 2017 Subaru Forester one of the safest new cars you can buy. Starting with the 2017 the complete Eyesight safety suite will be available as an option for all Foresters save for the base model.

Rounding out the litany of Subaru Forester upgrades are direct changes to the front and rear fascias. Paired to a new interior layout and configuration, the upgrades to the outside of the 2017 Forester are slight but visually appeasing. LED accents underline the Subaru Forester upgrades to both headlights and taillights and paired to a new reshaped front grille. While these Subaru Forester upgrades to appearance are rather slight, they do add to the overall package.

These minor changes extend to the interior, where thicker glass and upgraded door seals improve ride quality. Subaru also upgraded the steering wheel in the 2017 Subaru Forester, giving owners a heated option for the Touring and XT Touring models. These trims receive Subaru Forester upgrades that increase safety and comfort features across the board.

The 2017 Subaru Forester returns with the base 2.5 liter Subaru engine and improve the drivetrain of the crossover. The Subaru Forester upgrades include revisions to the engine as well as the CVT transmission that bump up fuel efficiency to 26/32 mpg. These upgrades and the inclusion of a six-speed manual transmission in the Premium and XT Premium models means that there are more options than ever for Subaru fans.

Some of the additional Subaru Forester upgrades include the X-Mode traction system and hill-descent control coming standard in all CVT equipped Foresters. Meant for off road use and flexing rugged outdoor capabilities, there's a lot to like about the all new 2017 Subaru Forester. The new Subaru Forester upgrades provide buyers with a unique blend of safety and performance that's unmatched in many of it's competitors.

Official pricing of the 2017 Subaru Forester is not yet official but according to most experts it's not expected to change much from the old model. Pricing ranged from $23,245 for a base model from a year ago, and pricing for the 2.0 XT Touring was set at $34,645.
